GFS Blinds were commissioned to install new blinds in various rooms of the famous Bluecoat building in Chester. On the face of it quite a straight forward job? However the Victorians did like their high ceilings…very high. So high ladders were needed for this one and being on one of the busiest roads in Chester the logistics were challenging. Anyway, with a couple of visits and parking tickets t’boot the job was completed.

The Oak Room

The Bluecoat host a number of charities and one of the main rooms is the Oak room, which is a bookable meeting room. 3.5 metre blinds were needed for this room and looked impressive when installed.

Chester Voluntary Action

CVA is a tenant in the Bluecoat building. Staff in the CVA office were troubled by light from the large victorian windows when trying to work on their computers. Installation of the blinds has made a big different to the working environment even in January. The real benefits will be seen as the summer arrives. Being a listed building, it was required that blind headrails were not visible from the outside.
