What are they? Rather than fitting shutters in the usual manner with frames and hinges, these shutters slide in a track. They concertina back.
Pros Give easy access through a patio or bi-fold door and can be pulled right back to make the most of a view.
Cons Not suitable for a window with a sill.
What are they?
Rather than fitting shutters in the usual manner with frames and hinges, these shutters slide in a track. They concertina back.
Pros
Give easy access through a patio or bi-fold door and can be pulled right back to make the most of a view. Supported top and bottom so can be extended to cover wide openings and ideal as a room divider.
Cons
Not suitable for a window with a sill, although there is a hybrid option (see below).
Best For
Patio doors and wider windows.
As a recent addition for wider windows (rather than patio doors), there is now a hybrid tracked shutter available which has side hinges like a standard shutter but has a top track. This allows for more panels to be added but with a smaller gap at the bottom of the shutter.
